TWO FREE MATH-SAT TUTORING SESSIONS AT THE SCRANTON LIBRARY

The two sessions are open to high school students looking to take the SAT exam in the 2017-2018 school year. Tutoring is free for students when they show their library card.  Please call to register 570-348-3000 extension 3023.  Students may attend either of the two sessions below or both.

Online Resources from the Albright Memorial Library

Your library has many useful resources!  Click here for the Albright Memorial Library’s website. On the top menu, click FIND and choose EXPLORE ERESOURCES.  (If there is no top menu, please click here to go directly to the ERESOURCES page.)

Tutor.com. One of the ERESOURCES from the Albright library is Tutor.com.  Scroll way down on the ERESOURCES page to find Tutor.com, click on it, and login with your library card number. Below is the main Tutor.com webpage.

Note the two yellow highlightings above. One is for the Princeton Review SAT/ACT Essentials and one is View Test Prep Resources.

• The Princeton Review is a great resource for the SAT and would be expensive if you purchased it yourself.
• If you click View Test Prep Resources, you will see three pull-down menus.  Choose Standardized Tests Preparation for Topic, College Entrance Exams for Subject, and SAT for Subtopic. The flashcards are useful for learning vocabulary commonly used on the SAT. For links to the College Board website and the Kahn Academy, you may wish to use the links below instead of the links on that Tutor.com webpage, depending on which browser you are using.

At CollegeBoard.org, you can create an account and practice for the SAT test. You can also register online for the SAT. The next SAT test will be given on August 26, 2017.  Click here for the deadlines for registering for the Aug 26 SAT and for more dates the SAT will be given during the 2017-2018 school year.

The Kahn Academy Website
At KahnAcademy.org there are many SAT practice problems, tips, and strategies.
